Final pre-season game of the year! The Leafs line-up will likely be very similar or even identical to the one we see on opening night. Here are the lines from yesterday's practice:

JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Lupul-Kadri-Leivo
Komarov-Holland-Nylander
Winnik-Santorelli-Kozun

Phaneuf-Robidas
Gardiner-Polak
Percy-Rielly

Robidas will make his pre-season debut and should be good to play opening night. There's a chance Clarkson plays tonight as well.

So, it looks like Nylander has made the team?

Not really. He could very well just be holding Clarkson's spot until he returns, which might be tonight.

i think there may be a possibility that he get 9 games before being sent down. But IMO

And especially since it looks like Winnick-Santo-Kozun will be a thing in the regular season, want to give them time to work together.  Then swap Nylander for Clarkson and you have the opening-night combos.

(And when Booth comes back, depending on how Kozun's doing we might then have Winnick-Santo-Booth, and hey presto there's that "captalizing on pre-existing Santo/Booth chemistry" thing that RC had talked about)

Lines at skate:

Leivo-Kadri-Lupul
JVR-Santorelli-Nylander
Winnik-Komarov-Kozun
Ashton-Holland-Frattin
McLaren-Orr-Clarkson

Phaneuf-Robidas
Gardiner-Polak
Rielly-Percy

Bernier starts

I wonder if that Torrey Mitchell hit that had Kessel smarting a few games ago left a little injury. He appeared to be at least a little hurt, hopefully he is just resting for the meaningful games though.

I don't have high hopes that Clarkson is going to be in any way more useful this year than he was last season.  I like the Holland will be the 3rd line center, his style is solid.

No need for McLaren or Orr to see the ice.

I think everyone agrees with you. Unfortunately it is RC that can't grasp this theory.

Hopefully RC feels a little desperation this season.  Even though he got an extension it was really only to eliminate the lame duck status, he knows his job is on the line.  Some go down with the ship though, so I don't hold out too much hope.

Dr Carlyle says that docs have been overly cautious with Robidas and he could have been cleared ten days ago.

Now we just have to hope that pesky helmet he wears while playing doesn't cause him to overheat and get a concussion.

Do you have a source on that?  I couldn't find that quote.

Carlyle says doctors were "extra cautious" with Robidas. Could have been ready 10 days ago.

That sounds quite a bit different..extra cautious is not over-cautious.

Is Percy on the team, then? Or they just still evaluating him?

Nothings been decided yet, and Franson's injury makes things a little unsure. The 7D spot does seem to be between Percy and Holzer though. My guess, Percy plays opening night if Franson is out, but once he returns Percy goes down to get playing time while Holzer sits in the pressbox.

This is my guess as well...I would think they see Percy as having more to give, and Holzer having reached his ceiling.
