Larry Hagman, who will always be remembered for his role in playing the inimitable J.R. Ewing in the television drama series "Dallas", at the height of it's fame back in the '80's era, passed away at the age of 81, due to a lengthy battle with cancer.
Hagman returned for the "reboot" of Dallas last year along with original cast members Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy, as well as cameo appearances by Steve Kanaly and Charlene Tilton.
"He was the pied piper of life and brought joy to everyone he knew," Gray said, according to KNBC LA anchor and reporter Robert Kovacik.
Hagman was also known for his role in the '60s television series "I Dream of Genie" also starting actress Barbara Eden.
Described as a genuinely nice individual, and a true professional, who, in spite of the cancer, refused to not star in the return of Dallas, feeling it was his duty as an actor to "let the show go on". Plus the fact that he enjoyed working with his fellow actors & actresses whom he onsidered close friends.
Rest in peace, Larry Hagman.
