Maybe Sandin to facilitate quicker breakouts?  Risky, I know, but they could use a new wrinkle.

What's the reason for taking Bunting off the first line? Is it a defensive thing? Seems really stupid to break it up now.

He's playing hurt and can't play like he normally does. He probably shouldn't even be playing

He?s not 100% and yeah it was a defense thing.  I think the Leafs keep falling into the trap of letting other teams dictate the way the game is going to be played though.  Keefe was line matching to the point that the Matthews-Marner line were the third line starting periods.  Then penalties take them out of the game further.  Matthews and Marner are good defensive players.  You need to trust them to be your best players.  Stop letting Tampa dictate the line matchups

A stacked up top line (Tavares/Nylander-Matthews-Marner) should be starting every game.

The real problem is: Lyubushkin can't cover for Rielly when getting iso'd in a playoff series.

Brodie, the player who could cover for Rielly, is covering for Muzzin. No one else can really play with Muzzin at this point and leverage the effectiveness Jake brings on the ice and on the bench.

So all it's coming down to, right now, is they're taking Lyubushkin's physicality over Liljegren's puckmoving, and going to shelter the hell out of his flaws as best they can. Wingers are going to get sterner marching orders to support the breakout, instead of flying the zone. It will cost offense, but 3+ goals per game suggests it's weathering and bypassing Tampa's forecheck that is where there is real impact to be made.

For some reason I am nervous as hell about winning this series. Time for a shooter or five.

I'm hoping Matthews can play like an MVP, at least at home.  And that Tavares gets on the board.

But yeah, their forecheck is what is winning them games right now, not godlike goaltending.

I am not as nervous as I thought I would be. It was way worse last year. I think this year I'm not as bad because we'd at least be losing to a good team. Been a while since we could say that.
