With another Red Wing possibly hanging the skates up for good, I thought there might be a few more of the announcements over the coming months.

Kris Draper is apparently done, announcement coming tomorrow: http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=372446

Always a guy I admired, played hard, scored some big goals, got his face caved in by Claude Lemieux.

Not to restart a debate but I'd feel better about Kris Draper going into the HOF than Chris Osgood.

I hope you don't take it too hard if Osgood gets in.  I won't if he don't.

After Pat Burns, I'm pretty much immune to the HOF making stupid decisions.

Just asking....

If Jagr's return to the NHL doesn't pan out with the Fllyers, would he consider going back to the KHL or retiring altogether?

What do you think?

Then he should call it quits. Great player, had a wildly successful career, but if it doesn't work out at age 39 it's not going to get any better from 40 and beyond.

But isnt that an issue with a number of aging starts? Many dont know their own limitations..... and thats sad

I sympathize with that, because it is probably difficult to let go of their livelihood and everything, but it can be painful to watch some of these guys, who I considered legends growing up, now reduced to being a bunch of old farts who can barely contribute (with the obvious exception of the Lidstroms/Selannes of the league)

Might have been a Hall of Famer had he played a brand of hockey that was more agreeable  to his physical well being. - Though, part of that made him such a good player too.

Was my favorite non-Leaf, I was one of the few who was happy with the trade.  Owen is one of six hockey related names I gave my kids.  (My wife thinks Joesph and Francis were used after her grandfathers...sucker!)

In the games Nolan played as a Leaf, I could never figure out why Quinn had him mostly on 3rd line duty.

If I remember correctly, he got a lot of his goals in SJ by quareterbacking the PP.  In Toronto, I don't remember him getting much PP time either.

Maybe I'm "misremembering" things.

Apparently Dominik Hasek still has some junk in the basement and wants to make a comeback to the NHL.

Apparently, he wants to be a thug this time around and lead the league in penalty minutes.  ?????
