If this city elects another left-winger like Vaughan or Carroll we will be doomed. Policy-wise, Ford was the best mayor this city has seen. He is just what Toronto needed whether the city realized it or not.

Yup. Doomed. Should a left of centre mayor be elected doom will come to the city of Toronto. Durm und Strang und Ragnarok. Remember David Miller? How lava erupted from the sewers?

Granted, I'm not a "fiscal conservative" by any stretch - but the last thing Toronto needs right now is another by-election. That being said, I'm completely content giving Doug Holyday the keys for the next 22 months since he was deputy mayor. The city did vote for a conservative platform, so we should have someone at least see that through (as long as he doesn't break any rules either...)

-Contracting out services to save the taxpayers' moneyTimKerr said:Further, what policies did he put in-place that actually helped Toronto?
David Miller left the city with a $774 million budget hole that resulted in unpopular service cuts that affected the city's most vulnerable the most. All this after he increased property taxes every year, introduced the vehicle registration tax, and introduced the land transfer tax. He increased city spending by a whopping 43% in only 7 years, largely due to the utterly ridiculous contracts he awarded the unions. Miller was an unforgivably horrible mayor.Nik V. Yes, disregard everything I said with a sarcastic remark of no substance.Nik V. Debs said:Justin said:Miller was an unforgivably horrible mayor.
Unforgivably horrible! Millions died of the plague! The streets run red with the blood of the non-believers! Lord Humongous now rules us all!
