Keith scores to tie it up at 1.  Should be at least another 3-4 games until he tries to baseball swing at someones head again.

2-1 Tarasenko goal being reviewed for offside. It's taken 5+ minutes. Just call it a good goal if it needs to take that long.

edit: No goal. Duuuummmmmmbbbbbbb

Oh look they gave Chicago a PP and they score to go up 2-1.

Shaw scores a PP goal. The league goes to review it for some reason. Called a good goal. Then Hitchcock uses his challenge for goalie interference. What fun!

That looks like it'll be a good goal though.

Catch the taste!

It feels like there's a goal being called back because of an offside every other day. If linesmen are making the wrong offside call that much on goals imagine how often they make the wrong offside call on entries that don't result in goals. I'm not being too critical of linesmen here as they're making these calls at high speed and it's often off by milliseconds/centimeters, it's moreso just made me realize how dumb offsides are.

Just get rid of them. No NHL coach would allow one of his players to just cherrypick in the offensive zone anyway, and if he does you're basically giving the other team a free powerplay. That'd definitely increase offence.

we don't need to review offsides..it's a joke.  and seeing that it was an issue going into the playoffs what does the nhl do?  add more cameras at the blueline.  Tell me that whether or not that skate was on the ice on that offside call impacted the goal more than pushing the goalie in the crease on the chicago one.....it's a joke..i hope this is like the year the stars won the cup with hull's foot in the crease and this stupidity just goes away forever

What a great hockey game this was today... Tremendous fast pace and goaltending.. The 2nd Blues goal was a tad weak but overall great saves at both ends.. Blues get game winner on a PP from a Kane 4 minute high sticking penalty

St.Louis takes a commanding 3 games to 1 series lead...and the 'Hawks' goaltender Corey Crawford goes berserk:

Shaw's been suspended 1 game for using a homophobic slur while in the penalty box near the end of the 3rd. You can find all the details in Puck Daddy's article below; including video of the incident, statements from You Can Play, Shaw, the Blackhawks, and an article from a gay Chicago beat reporter about why that type of language in sports needs to end.

Shaw's official statement was typical PR stuff, but he seemed genuinely upset with himself when he spoke to the media about it.

I mean, over and above the obviously more important social issues involved that's just such a monumentally stupid hit to take for a player on a team that has their backs to the wall.

Well, they're not going to abandon the rule mid-season or for the playoffs, so they might as well give the officials the best possible options to get things right on these reviews.

I agree that the whole reviewing offsides thing is ridiculous. I have to imagine the intent behind including it as part of the challenge was for goals scored off breakaways, 2 on 1s, etc, where whether or not the player was onside has a direct impact on the goalscoring play. I have no problem with that. Unfortunately, they didn't get specific enough with the language to limit it to those situations.

Yeah Chicago, if you've got three good dmen and 3 meh dmen, maybe don't spread the good quite as thin when facing elimination.

I get that there weren't that many defencemen moved at the deadline, but I really can't believe they didn't address that. Especially since they showed they were more than willing to move pieces to improve their team. Liles would have been a good fit there.

Indeed and even a guy like Hunwick is probably a #5 on that d depth chart.

I really don't get how a generally smart group makes that big a mistake with the D.

Spending way to much on a few guys and butting right against the cap....

Going to 2OT after St. Louis scores 2 in the third to tie at 3-3.

And Chicago won. Blues gotta be pretty nervous now. Still think that they're the better team but the whole mental aspect of it might be their downfall. Really felt like they needed to close this one out last night.
