Interesting that each West series has just 1 back-to-back in their schedule for the 2nd round, and they aren't even guaranteed games. Each East series has 2 back-to-backs in their schedule, one guaranteed and the other in their 6/7 games.

The Islanders and Flyers would probably be comfortable rotating their goalies if they needed to come game 6/7. This series though they're definitely going to have to ride their #1's.

And the Bruins are done! They couldn't take advantage of Kucherov, (last night) and Stamkos, (the whole series) being out. Hedman is a beast and so is Vas between the pipes. Love Point also. Bruins put themselves in this spot with a poor round robin. Pulling for a Stamkos free Lightning to make it from the East.

Luke Schenn - Stanley Cup Champion

Quite possible.  :o
It is possible. I said in another thread I think Luke would be ok for a 7th guy. After watching him last night, it might be a bit high lol. Wish him well though.

Well Krug's gone. Chara's 43 years old... will he want to play another season during a pandemic with a compressed schedule? Boston could be poised to (finally) take a step back next season.

They have the space to keep him, well both of them, but are they willing to pay Krug? He's a PP specialist and will be looking to get paid. Don't think 5.2 is going to do it.

They definitely have lots of cap space and could theoretically afford Krug but probably (rightfully) won't match what the top UFA offers will be. So even if it's a right move to let him walk it'll be a blow to their line-up.

Granted... maybe they're looking to use that money on a different big name defenceman...

That's a possibility. They did make a splash when they grabbed Chara some 14 years ago.

I wouldn't be stunned to see Hall land there either if that doesn't work out. They're definitely in an enviable position cap wise.

They have the money for sure. They would be deep up the middle with Hall, Bergeron and Krejci  for another run for the cup.

*cough*Hall's a winger*cough*

But yeah Hall signing even a shorter 2-3 year deal there to align with the rest of Bergeron's best years would be a very smart play on his part.

Even if Chara does come back, he's a shell of the player he used to be. His offence has mostly dried up, and he wasn't exactly a defensive stalwart this past season, either. His lack of foot-speed is really starting to catch up to him now.

I feel like I've been saying "Chara's gonna be bad now!" for like 4 seasons in a row. Granted looking at some numbers it does seem like that finally came true this season.
