Game Notes

ott
?Anderson (7-12-1, 3.25 GAA, .899 Sv%) will likely start for the sens
?Ottawa is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Capitals on Friday night
?The sens are basically where everyone thought they'd be this season: bottom 5 in the league. They will be rewarded with not just 1 but 2 high draft picks this season as San Jose will be gifting them with another
?Let's check in on some former Leafs: Brown and Ennis are 2nd and 4th on the team in scoring respectively. They'll both be welcome additions to Team Canada at the World Championships this year
?On defence Zaitsev and Hainsey are 2-3 in ice-time. Zaitsev's numbers have decreased as the season's gone on though: he averaged about 24+ minutes in October but in January is playing under 18 minutes. That might partially be because he's coming off an injury from December but there's no denying his ice-time has dropped throughout the season. His CF% is a team-worst 42.73% which would not only be the lowest of his career but worse than any rating Ceci put up as a sen as well

TOR
?Hutchinson (3-7-1, 3.83 GAA, .885 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Hutchinson hasn't had a start since January 4th when he shutout the Islanders. He's had 2 relief apperances since then that saw him get dinged for losses both times
?Dermott missed practice on Friday because of an illness he's battling. If he's unable to play Marincin will take his spot in the line-up

Injuries

?Nick Paul - Ankle - Injured Reserve
?Anders Nilsson - Concussion - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Travis Dermott - Illness - Questionable Saturday
?Morgan Rielly - Foot - Injured Reserve
?Ilya Mikheyev - Wrist - Injured Reserve

I'm bucking for a promotion from Captain to Colonel Obvious but this is a game the Leafs absolutely should win. They can't afford to let these 2 points get away.

Hutch tho

Dermott confirmed out, Marincin in. I guess that makes Mr Sandin, he of 11 NHL games total experience, our #1LD.

This could be fun  8)

If Hutch has a bad outing tonight, I think they replace him next week.

Things are far too tight in the standings for them to be patient in February.

I would think he'd be done for sure.

I imagine they've been trying to replace him for some time regardless. I think the team would be crazy to give up more draft picks, or kapajohnssonanen for a backup, and I imagine that's the ask, at least from the rags.

Big couple of games.  Panthers lost today.  Go beat the sens tonight and then we get Florida on Monday.  Opportunity to open a 4 point lead after being down 4 going into the break.

Gotta find a way to better at home.  Leafs haven?t been good in front of th faithful.

Habs beat Florida...Sabres beat Jackets (in OT, unfortunately), and even Vancouver chips in with a SO victory over the Isles. That's a nice afternoon! Now we just need Colorado and the Wild to both win and we could pick up some points (as long as we don't blow this one).

INTRIGUE!

Guessing he might have broken a team rule, like was late for a meeting. I'd imagine it'd be Dubas providing the "update" if it was a trade.
