Line-up Notes

ott
?Hammond likely starts for the sens
?Ottawa recently sign Scott Gomez to a contract for the remainder of the season since Kyle Turris was shut-down. Gomez, 36, had an impressive 24 points in 18 AHL games this season. Anything to keep the best prospect in the world out of a top-9 role, I guess
?Nothing else special about this game, nothing else at all

TOR
?Bernier will start for the Leafs
?Long-time senator Colin Greening will play in this much anticipated game against his former team

?Mark Borowiecki - Knee - Injured Reserve
?Kyle Turris - Ankle - Out indefinitely
?Clarke MacArthur - Concussion - Injured Reserve

Worth the wait.

I'm hoping Phaneuf gets a decent welcome. Probably get booed for whatever stupid non-reason.

Phaneuf will receive a video tribute during a TV timeout. Which represent quite a flip-flop from 4 months ago when Cox said this about Kessel not being acknowledged in any way during his first game back at the ACC:

?This is a bit of a change from (president) Brendan Shanahan and (general manager) Lou Lamoriello,? Cox said Friday night during his Headlines segment with Elliotte Friedman. ?They?re not going to do that stuff? No insult to Phil Kessel, they won?t be doing any sort of tribute.?

I think it's the right move for a returning traded captain, regardless of the stance they took at the time of Kessel's return.

I completely support a tribute for Phaneuf. I just wish Cox, the lead hockey insider for the national hockey broadcaster, didn't just act like a mouthpiece for the Leafs in this situation and said what everyone else already knew: the Leafs didn't give Kessel a tribute because they don't like him.

I think I said it at the time of the Kessel thing but while I don't have a problem with giving a video tribute to whoever, there's really no denying that the more you do something the less weight it carries.

I really hope that doesn't happen, or at least that it doesn't happen every time he touches the puck. The media seems to think fans at the ACC will just boo any old Senator every time he touches the puck, but you have to earn that with rat like qualities.

I like Hyman. Looked like a decent trade at the time as McKegg wasn't doing much but if this is any indication he'll be around full time next year. Babcock type player works hard, good defensively has some offensive skills. I know it's only 3+ games but that's the way these guys have to play on a nightly basis and that's what I like about Babcock if you're not you're going to be watching from the press box.

Congrats Willie, seems he scored his first with an assist from Brooks and Brooks assisted on Willies Dads last goal. How weird is that?
