So fun and it is only 11am
Go Leafs Go

Seriously, how hard could it possibly be to carve out something in the cap that wouldn't necessitate using amateur goalies? How could "If one of your guys gets injured, you can call someone up for a game without cap implications" be abused?

It seems like that should be something available under all circumstances.  Change the rule to in the event of an injury a replacement player does not cost against the cap (or at least can't force a team over the cap).

This notion that teams should play shorthanded because of an injury is stupid.  The hard cap is stupid.  I hate the owners.  I hate the cap.  I hate people who supported the owners in the lockout.

Honestly, I don't think my hockey fandom ever recovered from that whole experience. The 04-05 lockout was one thing but when even a majority of the hockey fans here supported the owners during the 12-13 lockout I think something in me just stopped caring so much.

Just looking at the general smugness from places like Reddit over something like this I'm just amused.  Maybe the skinflint teams that can't afford to have a team barely over the cap floor can fund their own organization instead of relying on significant transfer payments.  I'm amused at the takes over stuff like this.  This wasn't good last year when Vegas was playing with 5 defensemen to start the year.  It's not good now when the Leafs are using a walk-on goalie.

God forbid Campbell gets hurt cause unlike David Ayres you just know the Sens would pump 12 goals on this guy in a period

Sure, the Leafs have their problems, but I just watched the end of the Buffalo vs. Arizona game and it could be a hell of a lot worse.

If you live in Buffalo you are already in hell and if you live in Arizona, its hot as hell but you don't really give a shit about hockey.

Let's hope for a better start, some players to start producing and please no injuries. On another note what's the latest with Matthews?
