Series Thread: Anaheim vs Calgary

It's nice to see Carlyle have some success. I think he took way too much heat for the failings of the leafs. Ducks with a great season, home ice, and a 2-0 series lead.

I don't wish him ill will or anything but he had success prior to coaching the leafs. And he was a pretty frustrating coach when he was with the leafs.

And I'm sure he'd say the leafs were a pretty frustrating team to coach.

Touch?

And Anaheim completes the comeback to get a stranglehold on the series.

Calgary, Chicago and Washington all blow 2+ goal leads to lose in OT tonight. Not to mention the Sens blowing a 3 goal lead before squeaking it out in OT.

Anaheim  3    Calgary  1    Ducks win series 4 games to 0.

There wasn't much the Calgary Flames could do in any of these games in this playoff series against a much more agile opponent.  Add to the fact that Calgary found it impossible to hang on to a lead never mind blowing them made the endeavour to beat the Ducks at their game much more difficult.

The fact of the matter is that Anaheim outscored the Flames at even strength in this series.  Calgary's Johnny Gaudreau was kept of the scoresheet the whole time, while the Flames' goaltending certainly was at times sub-par, with starter Brian Elliott being yanked in Game 4.

Everything that could go right did for the Ducks, while it was nothing but downhill for the Flames.  That pretty well sums it all up.
