Game Notes

SJ
?Jones (13-10-1, 2.08 GAA, .920 Sv%) will likely start for San Jose
?Burns and Pavelski are tied for the team lead in points, each with 25 in 28 games
?After reaching the PPG mark last season, Jumbo Joe is on pace to have his worst season offensively since before the Y2K bug ended the world. He has 18 points in 28 games
?While he's always been known as a pass-first guy, Thornton's 2 goals in 28 games is still very low. Especially since both goals were scored with the opposing teams goalie pulled

TOR
?Andersen (11-7-4, 2.79 GAA, .914 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?No confirmation yet on whether Marner will stay on the 4th line for another game

Thanks, Carlton.

One of the hockey podcasts (I think the TSN Analytics one) mentioned this about Thornton earlier this year. He was nearly not shooting at all for Oct/Nov.

http://www.tsn.ca/why-has-joe-thornton-stopped-shooting-the-puck-1.615855

This year, Thornton is currently at 27 shots in 527 minutes (28 games) or 3.07 S/60. Contrast that with a more familiar picky shooter with a similar career shooting percentage in Tyler Bozak: 49 shots in 441 minutes (27 games) or 6.67 S/60.

You know, in an ideal world, Komarov and Shoshnikov would switch spots.

I am suffering from Deja posts

You know when Babcock throws out Hyman-Matthews-Nylander and Gardiner-Carrick on an OZ face-off that something fun will happen.

Great work by everyone on that line. Nylander especially.
