Please recall defenseman Dion Phaneuf leading his peers by a wide margin on the list of the NHL's most overrated players. The latest question answered anonymously by 145 NHL players: Which All-Star-caliber player is the easiest to intimidate?

The top responses:

Phil Kessel, Toronto Maple Leafs RW 15%
The Sedin Twins, Vancouver Canucks F's 8%
Alexander Semin, Washington Capitals LW 7%
Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks C 3%
Ilya Kovalchuk, New Jersey Devils LW 3%

Back-to-back Art Ross winners and Hart trophy finalists right behind Kessel. Not exactly bad company to be in. Also, I'd love to see the people who voted in this poll try to "intimidate" all 6'3'', 230lbs of Kovalchuk.

I can't wait for SI's next poll, "Which Maple Leaf smells the worst?"

145 players eh? That should just about cover all the 4th liners, fringe NHLers, and bottom pairing defencemen in the NHL.

The man battled cancer at 20 years of age. I don't imagine too many things intimidate him.

^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^^

This might have actually been the case over the last few years, even though it's been freakin' Chara doing most of the intimidating, but it certainly doesn't seem to be true this season.

15% of 145 is around 22 players, maybe all 22 who voted for Kessel were Bruins.

No kidding.  What is the deal with these borderline-personal polls?  Who is clamoring for SI to conduct these things?

I can't even believe this poll would be thought up by anyone, nevermind actually taken and published.  What a useless piece of information, if you can even call it that.  Wow.

sports illustrated really seems to have a hate on for the leafs eh?
Well, as has been mentioned before it is a poll of players, not sure how the sample is selected though.

My question is if they hate hockey players.  Do they do positive polls as well?  Most well-respected player, etc.?  The polls I've seen so far are only designed to stir the pot.  No matter who answers them, the questions being asked are attempts to troll and little else.

Good for him for successfully having a testicle removed, but I really don't see the relevancy when compared to having a 220 lb defenseman coming in for a hit against the boards. I'm sure it's still intimidating.
