Pretty good article from Dave Feschuk... Covers a lot

Some thoughts from Pat Quinn and Black Bears on how Dave Nonis's past has prepared him for the present as Leafs GM

I believe he is the next step in the Burke rebuild. even though Burke got shafted we did get the right man to fill the void. and better yet Burke will be there to bounce ideas off of.  I for one am looking forwar to the Nonis era.

Nutman, you're the most positive guy on here.  I don't know if that's good or bad.  ;)

Burke and Nonis built Vancouver and they will build Toronto. If Reimer hadn't gotten injured last season and this team didn't fall off a cliff in the last 1/3 of the season and made the playoffs fans would be much more optimistic about essentially the same team.

Next July 1st may be a good day to gauge our new GM....

Right, and also if I was a multi-millionaire and dating Charlize Theron, I would feel a lot better about my prospects of banging a movie star on bed completely covered with $100 bills nicely placed right beside my infinity pool in my beachfront house in the south of France.

Ok its been a few days and we have heard a lot of retoric on how this team will move forward. Is it just me or is everyone happy that our Toronto Maple Leafs are back in the hands of a Canadian. Seems with Burke we were heading in a very American direction.  Will this continue with Nonis, I sure hope not. I would love Nonis to go out and get some top Canadian talent. Couldnt Kessel, JVR, Connelly, and Liles return us a goalie and a 1A center.  Sounds drastic but we Nonis now who I'm sure wants to make his mark.  Go Canadian.

LOL.  I don't care if they're American, Canadian, Swedish, Russian or Chinese, if they can play hockey and help the Leafs win all the power to them.

This. To paraphrase Brian Burke, I don't care what colour their passports are, I just want the Leafs to focus on bringing in players that help them to become a serious Cup contender and, eventually, Cup champs.

Wow...Nonis isn't that bright.  Everyone knows that it's LE model.

Pierre LeBrun chats with Nonis

Not lots new but worth a scan. Here's one point Lebrun made:

And while Nonis was obviously careful not to name names nor teams in his comment above, clearly what he's saying is that unless/until the Canucks lower their asking price for Luongo, there won't be a trade.

Nonis sounding more like a Holland or a Poile rather than a Burke.  And that's good.

I really like what he's saying here. I just hope the impatient fans and media can get in tune with the process. That will be the hardest part. It will be SLOW, and often agonizing to the average fan, but the reward should be worth it in the end!!
