Highlander said:Kaskisuo is sitting around a .940 goals against average and is a different Goalie than the pre playoff Marlies Goalie. In the playoffs I noticed that he was squaring to the shooter and being aggressive in his approach. He actually reminded me of Freddie a little bit in his style.
He worked out his problems with the new Goalie Coach who has had a real positive affect on his play.
Hutch is a nice guy from Barrie, but Hutch is all Hutch is going to be and that is not "Clutch"...
Just saying............
Highlander said:Last time I looked it was .944 but your information is probably correct... Kasi is not a flopping juggler which Sparks got away with in the AHL.. Kasi is more of square up kind of guy....he reminded me of Freddie in the playoff run. Nothing to lose really... Hutch is not the man.
I thought when I asked for Pogge I was getting Welfare!Nik Bethune said:Highlander said:Last time I looked it was .944 but your information is probably correct... This is more or less word for word the justification people used for Pogge over Rask.
I agree. Babs needs to give us the best chance of winning the B2B. He isn't by starting Freddie in the 1st game. Maybe Babs is conceding the 2nd game just going with the percentages??? Freddie should be playing both games against the Bruins and Montreal next Sat. Hutch should get Columbus on Monday and the Sharks on Friday. Hutch hasn't been great but he certainly isn't the reason for being 0-1-1 either.Dappleganger said:Teams win 29% of second games of a back-to-back when the other team is rested.
Not really putting Hutch in a position to succeed here.
Oh, and it's happening to the Leafs twice next week.

Curious where you saw that number. I'm sure the tired team is at a disadvantage but that seems awfully low.
And that's why Babs should have played Freddie against the Caps.Coco-puffs said:IIRC:
1. Home team wins 55% of the time when there is no rest advantage
2. Playing on a back-to-back against a rested team gives the rested team a 3% advantage.
So, both teams being equal (ie if the Leafs and Capitals were equal teams), the Leafs should have only had a 42% chance of winning.
Cullen had them at 47% because they are the supposedly superior team- although I don't know if that included playing Hutch or not.
