The Official Pet Hall of Love/Fame for photos of members' beloved animal friends

I've never had a cat, so forgive me if I'm confusing things here but...... at our store, we sell an awful lot of 'cat grass'. It looks like chives, and usually comes from the Floral/Garden dept, a live little growers' pot about four inches square. Is that the same as catnip? Cause apparently, according to the cat owners I ask when they buy it, cats just love this stuff.

Took this one in January, shortly before the Blenheim passed away.

No, cat grass is basically just grass that the cats eat/chew on then puke up. Catnip looks like a bag of weed, except instead of making them get mellow and wanting for munchies, they get energetic for a few minutes then want munchies.

Haha yea, perfectly put bullfrog. I got the cat grass the same time I got the catnip, the grass is currently growing.

In-laws dog "Bentley" - this is his favourite spot and he is one very sweet and sucky dog, loves everyone and his tail is like a whip or large stick - you need to move out of the way when it starts wagging.  :)

I want to get a dog. I went to the humane society shelter but the bulk of their dogs are bigger and my living arrangements aren't suitable for a big dog.

The smaller dogs they had all had some behavioral issues, biting, aggression, etc. I will be a first time dog owner and I think those types of dogs need an owner with experience.

I've heard all kinds of horror stories with how many breeders treat their puppies. If I am unable to find a suitable dog to adopt from a shelter, does anyone here have any suggestions on how to find a trustworthy breeder?

Are you in the GTA? We adopted two dogs from here just this past Christmas:  http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ON258.html

Amazing dogs, no behavior or health issues, a lot of dogs to choose from and they do a great job helping find the right dog for you.

Yeah, petfinder is good.  You could also decide on what breed you are looking for and then try googling a rescue for that particular breed and see if there is anything available.  Good luck.

We put our Newf Angus down a couple months ago.  We miss him dearly, but our Lab Bella seems to miss him most.  She goes and sniffs his old mat every time she comes in from outside, and whenever we get home, she goes out and checks the van for him.

Any chance Bella will get a canine sibling soon?
