Toronto's Swedish sniper - Andreas Johnson

Nice article Bonsixx, thanks?looks like we may have found a gem there. Would be nice to have some more of these kind of articles about our prospects.

14G, 22PTS in just 32 games so far in SEL this season is pretty impressive considering that he celebrated his 19th birthfay in November (meaning he started the season as 18 years old).
3G, 6PTS in 6 games at WJHC is not shabby stat either
If he could only grew 1 or 2 incehs (he is listed 5.9)

Hey Stebro,

I did some looking around and while he seems to be a rare breed in the SEL, this player caught my attention.

Is he being targeted off season/do you think he can play a North American game?

Another Swede looks like he'll be coming over to NA next season.  Tom Nilsson, Leafs' 4th round pick in 2011:

@Tsetse_fly

Leafs scout Thommie Bergman says to GT(newspaper) that Leafs prospect Tom Nilsson will play in NA next season(Leafs/Marlies).

Article about him from last January: http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2013/01/02/world_juniors_leaf_prospect_tom_nilsson_excels_for_sweden.html

As bleak as things look today, we are stocking  up a pretty good set off defenseman, MacWilliam, Percy, Finn, Granberg, Knodel, and now this kid. What happened to Victor Loov?  He was said to be tough as nails.  And Holzer must be getting better as well?

This guy is a forward not a D-man, but otherwise I agree.

The prospect pool looks promising in terms of serviceable D-men.

According to Swedish reports he signed his ELC with the Leafs yesterday. He'll come over to North American next season and likely play with the Marlies.

Like you said, there's a bunch of young defencemen signed now: MacWilliam, Percy, Finn, Granberg, Nilson, Knodel, Loov. Plus Holzer and Kevin Marshall are both signed to contracts and they're key players on the Marlies. Wonder how they're going to manage that.

Let hope that at least 3 of these fellows us on the Loaf D next year.  We need to move out some of the shellshocked fellow: Franson, Gleason for sure
