Wade Redden to St Louis Blues

TSNBobMcKenzie: Well, there it is. Wade Redden a STL Blue. Hearing 1 year deal, $800K base salary with GP bonuses that could make it $1M total.

Is it strange that, now that he's out of the conference and the memories of his Senators days are largely in the past, that I'm rooting for him a little bit?

Seeing that teams like St. Louis and LA were after him kind of made me want him even more. I think he's going to do fine in a bottom pairing role.

WHAT?! He was making more than that in the AHL!

Yes, and he got all that money when the Rangers bought him out. He'll earn the pro-rated equivalent of at least  $7.3M this season.

The Blues now have 4 players that are 35 or older. Strong team with a good mix of old veterans and young kids.

Me too, although admittedly I'm also rooting for them to send him to the minors, because it would be funny.

I needed some kind of winkie or smiley thing there.
