Ya I like Sparks mojo, wouldnt mind seeing Bibs get a start or two. Lou mentioned they want to see both of them this year.

Boyes pissed me off last night, plenty of skill and very little heart.

If he's genuinely injured, I'll give him a pass. Part of me wonders if the management saw that same lack of intensity and decided to reserve him a bed in the Robidas cupboard.

yeah Minny has been playing well since coaching change.. But anything can happen. Good to see Sparks back in net

Minny in a dog fight with Colorado for that last wildcard spot, so I'd expect a pretty strong effort from them.

Interesting that Philly is still in it fighting with Pittsburgh for that last wildcard spot in East.

Now I get to make a more direct comparison between Leipsic and Carrick.

We've got a strong collection of skilled and annoying-to-play-against players for this game: Leipsic, Komarov, Kadri, Soshnikov, Hyman, Carrick

?PA Parenteau - Neck - Questionable Thursday

Guess those muscle cramps must have found a way to his neck.

Everytime I have a neck issue, it manifests first either in my elbows or my shoulders.

Boyes hurt, Leipsic called up.

Boyes "hurt"...Lou took him out behind the shed and kicked him in the shins.

"It was pretty sick," said Nylander, who had six shot attempts in 16 minutes. "You're just sort of standing (around), got caught off guard (in the) first period, you're just star struck a little bit, but then you don't want to have that happen anymore so you just got to get that out of the way...you've just got to play."

Reason #1-100 on why having Nylander and the other youth in the lineup this year is not a bad thing.  Get this element of their game out of the way to have a solid offseason to progress toward a full year.

Going into next season he'll have played against men professionally for 3 years. That includes 2 half season in the AHL and a quarter of a season in the NHL. He won't be a grizzled veteran obviously but that's a lot more experience then you expect from your typical 20-year old prospect.

I like this aspect of the call ups. They get a largely inconsequential taste of the big leagues and know exactly what needs to be worked on over the off season.

Not to mention that the idea that it would "hurt the tank" seems unlikely. We might see flashes of brilliance but odds are he and the other call-ups will look out of place at times and struggle with some of the challenges.
