Oh I agree Im 100% in favour of dismantling it now before we give up even more come March thinking they can still win something. Start the rebuild or recoup some draft choices that we desperately lack.

Because Hildeby is a bit fragile with his confidence. Leafs plan seems to be to play the heck out of him in the AHL. Having him sit on the bench and get into a game here and there isn't the best way to help your top goalie prospect.

The Leafs had zero idea how long Woll was going to be out for.

It's not happening. They have this year plus 2 more with Matthews under contract. If things really go bad maybe they approach Matthews in that final year and see if he'll agree to a trade. It's more likely they'll trade Cowan for immediate help (Kadri?). At this point there's no turning back.
