Because he's letting them play. They're not doing the dump and chase. They're also pulling a little Keefe puck possession game as well. Release the talent.

Sure looks good when they all actually skate and try to win pucks instead of hoping it bounces free.

I don’t think it’s really changing the system. They’re winning pucks so they are gaining time and space to make plays.

Pretty good game overall, but this PP stuff has to be sorted out. Just put OEL out there for unit 1. Matthews being out at the blueline seems not to be the best use of his skill set. On PP 2...I think I'd like to have one dman out there plus Robertson as a shot threat. I mean....I know this is just a blue-white game from a few years ago, but can any Leaf defenseman blast a puck like this?

Robertson not being on one of the PPs is just plain stupid.
And Matthews is at the blueline because they don't trust anyone else out there when they run 5 forwards. Marner was there because he can play D. With 91, 88, 23, 53, not happening and they proved it on that goal. Zero defensive awareness.
