2025-26 NHL Thread

I'm cheering for Vegas because I want to see Mitch Marner win a Stanley Cup.
I don't necessarily think it's going to happen but there's a chance Marner and Vegas miss the playoffs this season too. It'd be a little poetic if both sides came out of the split like that. Vegas is 1-6-0 over their last 7 games, and 5-11-2 since mid-January. They've still got some buffer on the teams chasing them but obviously they gotta turn that ship around soon.

Vegas is also somewhat curiously sticking with the Marner-at-centre experiment despite having Eichel and Hertl also in the middle and Stone's injury leaving a big hole on their wings.

They strongly benefit from playing in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Probably the right move. I still feel at the end of the day it's on the league to make sure trades that are made are "legal". Why does the league need to approve trades if they aren't approving them for adhering to league guidelines?

Not sure I remember this right but wasn't the issue being the sens never submitted his NTC to the league when they submitted the trade?

I think the deal was they 'allegedly' didn't tell the Knights about the trade restrictions. C'mon! Fire up the puckpedia before you go through with the trade! League still should have flagged it.

I think the problem still lies with the league who approved the subsequent trade and then had to void it. Vegas needs to know the restrictions of the contracts that are part of their organization.
