    The playoff performing thing seemed to be from Wes Clark. They really valued the back half push from Knies and Cowan (and their subsequent playoffs) and worried a bit less about the aggregate point totals/pace if it was easily explained.

    For the past three seasons, the Leafs front office and draft/dev team made special note to key in on making sure their picks were players who ramped up in tournament/playoff opportunities and could handle market/fan/internal pressure with some very targeted dev exercises.
