Mammoth @ Leafs - Nov. 3rd, 7:00pm - TSN4

If they played the whole game like that they probably win. Stupid penalty by Raddysh late in the game and the vaunted PK is consistently leaking goals now.

Leafs need to find a way to stay out of the box. Five games in a row taking more penalties than their opponent. 25 penalties to 11 PPs in the last 5 games

I get that they won't call contact with the goalie outside of the crease, but that was a trip, not contact.

Tripping the goalie is a penalty right? Like if he's playing the puck behind the net and a player takes his feet out, they call it.

That's the thing they were saying, but if you skate into a guy and knock him down in the neutral zone it's still going to be called as a penalty if it directly impacts the play. Incidental contact that doesn't affect players doesn't get called. I get why the team didn't challenge because the Utah PP is hot and 3-1 would have been tough to come back from but its the officials watching a goalie blatantly not be able to make a save and calling it a good goal that is frustrating.

It honestly goes back to my argument that having replay assist should be viewed as a good thing and not something that is bad for the sport. I'm not saying we should be able to have 5 minute delays for every single infraction on the ice but scoring plays should be allowed to be reviewed

The issue remains that hinge point of transitioning from defense to offense. If that first breakout is rickety, as it currently is much of the time, the forwards have an uphill climb establishing sustained OZ time.

Nylander and Marchenko paper it over somewhat, but with Willy seemingly hindered and Kirill out with a knee sprain, the non-Matthews lines are struggling to put and keep the puck in the right zone.
