1 Vancouver Canucks vs 8 Los Angeles Kings

Looks like Brown fell over trying to get out of the way.  It's a play where the intent of Sedin looks worse than the actual contact - he clearly skated by and attempted to hit him in the face, just ended up 'Sedining' it.

Yeah. Looks like Brown fell over more out of surprise/reflexes (and selling it a little) rather than the force of the impact.

Where does the "intent to injure" come in to play here?  Sure looks like Sedin's intent is to injure.

Looked like more of a backhand slap then anything else. I don't see any serious intent to injure.

Must have watched RocknRolla the night before or something...

Yeah. Poor sportsmanship, immaturity, cowardly, etc, absolutely, but, even Sedin had to know he's not going to injure anyone with a soft backhand swipe like that.

On a related note, nice Italian soccer player imitation by Brown there. - Not exactly the sportiest thing I've seen from a hockey player either. - Though maybe telegraphing it in attempt to draw the penalty was the right thing to do for the team's sake.

He sold it a little bit, but, no more than any other player likely would have, and certainly not on the level of an Italian soccer player. That's Kesler's domain. :P

"Sold it a little?" Man, that was WWEish!

Looked more to me like he thought he was going to get hit and moved backwards and since he was just getting up from his knees, that he just toppled backwards.  Hard to say though, because he was going to be holding his face anyways because of the puck cutting him.

Actually, that angle shows an elbow AND a backhand slap. I suppose Brown's reaction was warranted. Still, I don't think there was enough force behind it to be of much concern to the league. Maybe a $2500 fine. Nothing more. - Dirty, gutless move by Sedin for sure though.
