1 Vancouver Canucks vs 8 Los Angeles Kings

All that being said, this series has made me firmly never want to see Ryan Kesler win an award, ever.  His play has been embarrassing in this series with his blatant diving for a guy who is a "power forward".

Amazing, isn't it? Painfully obvious sometimes. Funny thing is though, even the officiating seems to be on to his act, he isn't getting the calls nearly so much (I've only seen 1 1/2 of these games, too late for me) as last year.

Kesler is a joke. I also love how Simpson called out Williams for a dive and then praised Kesler a moment later for what was a significantly worse dive.

My vast dislike of Vancouver aside (the diving, the whining, and massive ego) I'm really surprised at how much they have sucked in this series.  I really thought they made themselves a strong team that was capable of a repeat.  I can't believe that losing D. Sedin messed up their team so much.

It really has been shocking.  D. Sedin is a huge part, but the team looks completely out of sync; even his brother looks rather ordinary.  It's easy to pile on Luongo, but he has been the least of the team's problems.

Watching them and you get the sense they aren't as deep this year.  Doesn't help that Kesler (aside from his diving) has been near invisible and has provided no secondary scoring.  I suggested it a few days back, but the Kassian-Hodgson trade has seemed to have blown up in the Canucks' face.  They were so keen on getting edgier that they ripped out one of their better secondary options.

Bobby Holik was on the radio this morning and made a very valid point in saying that the Canucks retooled their team with the notion as to match up with the Bruins, but a) there is no guarantee they would be playing them again considering the only chance would be in the final; and b) it has taken some skill away from their team.  It was tough to disagree with any of what he said (I found him to be a pretty good interview).

Also have to give credit to Quick, he hasn't been standing on his head, but he's playing almost flawless positional goaltending, and he's tracking the puck like a bat.

Defensively, the Canucks are suspect.  Certainly the play of Alex Edler in Game 3 was questionable. Kevin Bieksa hasn't been any better.  But yeah, trading away Hodgson didn't help their cause.

So let's cut to the chase: are we getting Luongo or Schneider for Phaneuf?
How many years does Luongo have left on his contract?versus Phaneuf.

Isn't it funny how we Leaf fans hope and pray all season long that we can just get to the playoffs, and the team that wins the presidents trophy looks like they will play a total of FOUR more games this year than our Leafs?

the sweep will be tough ..look at chicago last year against the canucks ..brought them all the way back to 7 ... but yes ..every year or so it seems someone reminds us that the regular season only means so much ...still..i'm surprised by vancouver ..they know what it takes to get through a playoff series...it's like they've been caught napping

Maybe not for Phaneuf, but we are getting one of them. I'm guessing Luongo because Schneider is better.

I don't see it. Isn't Luongo's contract an albatross?
