Gillis seems to have the charisma of a dead fish too.  Completely monotone.

Yup. He provided the one thing the Habs opening ceremony lacked - completely uninspiring speeches.

Van down 4-2 now.

I'll never get sick of the look on Vigneault's face when they get scored on.

LOL 5-2 now and Luongo is on the ice!  A nasty goalie controversy in Van would be so hilarious now.

Edit: look at that last goal their D did not do him any favours

I really hope every night is like this for Vancouver. I know it won't be, but, man, wouldn't that be hilarious?

Yep.  Just need Luongo to stop everything for the rest of this game.  Then him and Schneider need to each alternate getting shelled and playing awesome to drive Vancouver completely insane.

Though, I mean, in a way, this was almost entirely predictable. If someone told me leading up to tonight that Schneider would look awful in game #1 and Luongo would have to come in, I probably would have agreed with them.

Poor Schneider

5 goals on 14 shots. .643 save% 11.38 GAA

Didn't make it to the mid point of the second period.

The media smells blood

Was an absolute pleasure to watch the 42 year old Teemu rip the Canucks apart last night. His 2nd goal was vintage Selanne.

Just to add to Mike Gillis' tough times, Cody Hodgson burns Meszaros to bury the Flyers 4-2 (eventually winning 5-2). A tweet by Harrington of the Buffalo News declares Hodgson, a potential 2nd line center for the Canucks back when, handily the star of the game.

Mike Harrington ‏@BNHarrington
I know Vanek has four points. He's gonna be the No. 1 star. But Hodgson has been the best player on the ice. #Sabres

Ted Kulfan ‏@tkulfan
Gustavsson says his groin usually acts up at the start of season...says he is day to day but sounds loke he is oit for next two games

5 points for Vanek (in on every goal) against the Flyers this afternoon... Need to find a way to neutralize him tomorrow night. Or, maybe the Flyers goaltending and defence is just that bad.

The Flyers have built themselves a slower, less mobile blueline. Combine with an inconsistent Bryzgalov . . . well, let's just say, it should be entertaining.

I'm sure Flyers fans are loving Luke Schenn so far. An own-goal (albeit, not really his fault) in Game 1. Two penalties that led to two power-play goals against in Game 2.

Upon video review, that goal turned out to go off Kennedy's stick (as a tip in) and Kennedy who was beside Schenn got credit for the goal. But he was Luke's man to cover ..

I'm not a Flyers fan but I hope Luke does well. Thought he was a decent guy who was brought along too quickly.

Looks pretty clearly off Schenn's stick: http://blogs.thescore.com/nhl/2013/01/19/luke-schenn-scores-own-goal-against-penguins/
