2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Alvarez has mild elbow inflammation, should make his next start.

I'm starting to get a little concerned with the pitching staff (coaching).  3 of 5 starters out with elbow injuries.  Maybe they need to take a look at how they are handling a young pitching staff a little more carefully.

But it's not like it's just a Jays thing.  So many teams have pitching injuries this season already.

Lind has two HR's and 4 RBI in the game tonight.

Oh, and Aaron Hill just hit for the cycle for the 2nd time in 11 days.

It was a trade that essentially helped both teams out, but Arizona wins this one.  Hill has rebounded pretty well and Johnson's kind of a wishy-washy defensive guy who not providing that .800 OPS kind of production that lets you forget about his mediocre defense.

It's nice to see Hill rebound though because he was playing his way out of the league.

Anyone out there who thinks saves or blown saves are meaningful stats should look at tonights game. Scott Richmond "blew a save" after coming in to pitch in the top of the sixth.

Went on vacation for three weeks and came back and the Jays are more or less where I expected they would be - still hanging around the .500 mark, winning a few, losing a few. What I didn't expect was the injuries to the pitching staff. :o

Good to see Bautista surging in home runs again, and Lawrie and Rasmus seem to be doing really well at the top of the order.

11-1 Jays in the 5th. Hopefully Alvarez can go the distance in this one - only 56 pitches thrown through 5 innings!

Bautista is going to the All-Star game as a starter.  The downside is he is the only Jay going.
