2013 World Championships

I know the leafs are in the playoffs this year so there will be even less attention paid to this tournament this time around.

13 players have committed for Canada including a strong group of 10 forwards.

Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning
Taylor Hall, Edmonton Oilers
Jordan Eberle, Edmonton Oilers
Claude Giroux,  Philadelphia Flyers
Matt Read,  Philadelphia Flyers
Wayne Simmonds, Philadelphia Flyers
Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes
Jordan Staal, Carolina Hurricanes
Ryan O'Reilly, Colorado Avalanche
Matt Duchene, Colorado Avalanche

Luke Schenn, Philadelphia Flyers
Brian Campbell, Florida Panthers

Devan Dubnyk, Edmonton Oilers

Plenty of forwards, but will we be equally strong on the defence & goaltending?  Hope those won't our 'weak' spots.

Lines at their first practice:

Ladd-Giroux-Stamkos
Read-EStaal-Simmonds
Hall-Duchene-Eberle
O'Reilly-JStaal-Skinner

I guess they wanted some more grit in the top-6, but I'd put the Carolina trio together and have the Philly wingers flank O'Reilly on the 4th line.

That is pretty much an allstar team.  Those forwards could easily win a medal at the Olympics.

Denmark leading 1-0 after the first. Canada better start scoring some goals.

Agreed, it's definitely better to score.

2-1 Canada after 2 periods. Goals by Duchene and Stamkos (PP). Canada slowly starts dominating the game, but the Danes play quite well.
Btw. US defeated Austria 5-3 after trailing 0-2, I guess it takes some time to get going.
