2013 World Championships

Swiss outplaying Canadians in the first quite badly thanks to some powerplays and took 1-0 lead in the first. Like yeasteday, team Canada got wake-up call roughly in the middle of the game and Ladd got the equalizer. Canada slowly taking the control of the game. Tied at 1 after 2.

Tied at 2 after third period.

Game went into shootout, Swiss converted 2 out of 8 attempts. Canada only one by Duchene. Stamkos, Eberle (2x), Duchene (2x), Giroux and Read all failed. Switzerland gains 2 points, Canada just one.

Granberg could become really good, should be interesting to follow him. On a side note, The Sedins+Edler will join Sweden. Much needed for us :)

I've heard him called a nastier version of Gunnarsson, better defensively, worse offensively.

That sound about right?

I think he has more potential than Gunnarsson. Yeah it sounds about right, he's getting more physical for each year, he's very solid, plays a simple game of hockey. I think he has like 1 goal in 3 seasons lol.

Sweden-Canada today, should be interesting, we haven't played very well so far, although our goaltending has been solid. We might only come with 3 forward lines due to injuries, and the fact that the Sedins are joining so another forward got cut. The Sedins+Edler will play first next week. Not sure if Enroth or Markstrom will start yet, my guess is Enroth but no idea :)

Biggest upset of the tournament? France just beat Russia.

I saw the highlights, this is hillarious.
Yeah, it was nice to see them so happy. Hmm, I wonder if Kovalchuk makes more money than their entire team put together :D

Btw. Danes going into OT against Czechs is hillarious as well, loving these underdogs showing annoyed NHL players how to play hockey.

I saw the equalizer by Denmark, then I turned off the tv, cause there's a lot of thunder and lightning here :)

Could have been like 5-0 to Canada now, only swede who is playing well is Enroth. 3-0 to Canada.

Stebro, don?t worry we are even worse... And I bought the tickets to see it first hand on Sunday (vs. Canada) and Monday (vs. Norway) with no guarantee of making quaterfinals... Travelling from Oslo with Norwegian friend who is mocking me all the time that on Monday our two teams will fight for quterfinals. Just ugly.

I was actually planning on seeing Czech Republic vs Canada, but I'm going to a concert late at night the night before so i'm not sure. I was supposed to go to Sweden-Canada, but the only tickets that were left cost like 160-170 us dollars, I aint paying that much for one ticket. This is a weird tournament, I'm not sure how Latvia is doing now but they were leading vs Slovakia.

felt like canada kind of sat back on that lead after the first..didn't seem to play as strong..on the other hand..they apparently didn't need to...i imagine sweden will be better with the sedins..

LOL@refs, game misconduct for Edler, I could buy a 2 min penalty for tripping or kneeling, but 5 minute and a game misconduct, it wasn't even intentional. Really stupid.

Edit: Apparently and intentional knee hit that leads to an injury results it an automatic game misconduct and 5 minute penalty. Didn't see it as intentional though.

I sat down to watch the shootout today, the first bit of hockey I've seen since the disaster that was Leafs/Bruins Game 7.

And Canada lost.

Good thing I didn't actually care about this tournament!
