2016-2017 Injury Thread

Lombardi updated Jonathan Quick's status today, saying that he will be out until March. I think the original estimates were late January. LA is currently in the mix for the final wildcard spot in the West.

Peter Budaj has started 23 of their 28 games this season and has a .907 Sv%. Their back-up, Jeff Zatkoff, has a .882 Sv%.

I'm actually pretty surprised that they didn't claim Enroth off waivers when he was there.

Enroth was unhappy with playing time there last year, perhaps they see him like Babcock does?

Bad news guys...Gallagher is out for 8 weeks after surgery on broken hand.

The sens announced today that MacArthur won't play this season:

Apparently Clarke hasn't had any symptoms for awhile now but it's a decision that the doctors have made. Honestly I was pretty surprised when I heard talk about him coming back. When he initially went down it really sounded like he was done for good. All the best to him, sen or not I'll always be a fan of Mac.

Clarkson came to the Blue Jackets in a 2015 trade deadline deal that sent Nathan Horton to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now both players are likely finished with their careers because of the same ailment: degeneration of the lower spine. Clarkson played through a stiff back for years, both with the Devils and Leafs.

Oh man, that is terrible.

Sad to hear. A really bad back is something I wouldn't wish on just about anyone. It can really mess with your quality of life.

Tavares wth what appears to be a lower body injury (leg).  He  was rounding the back of the net, back of skate hit the netting, next thing he trips and he's seen clutching the back of his thigh area.  The Islanders finished with a victory last night over the Devils to continue their hopes for a wildcard playoff spot in the East. The Tavares makes it bittersweet.

Islanders say he will be evaluated.  Didn't look  judging by the faut that Tavares had to be helped to the bench.  Bad timing for the Isles.

:(  I was hoping for another Sharks run this year.  I hope this isn't the last we've seen of him.  Still blows my mind he wasn't a Top 100 NHLer.

I don't think knees are supposed to bend that direction.

At his age, and the way that knee went, it doesn't look good long term for him (in my expert, non-medical opinion lol)

Seriously though, it'll take a lot for him to get back from this if it's as bad as it looked.
