2019 World Juniors Hockey Championship

Hate to say it, cause of national pride and whatnot, but I found the diving and embellishment from Comtois in both games disgraceful.
 
A close call but a win nevertheless.

Team Canada finishes the Preliminary Round in second in Group A.  Russia takes top spot.

Team Canada has been the tournament's highest scoring country while allowing the fewest goals against of any as well.

Team Sweden finishes in first place in Group B, while Team USA grabs second spot.

In reference to your post, yes there are others who share that viewpoint on Comtois, mainly his diving more than even his embellishments.  So much so that it got the ire of Team Russia's Kim Kostin:

And divey mcdivesalot whiffs on the penalty shot, and possibly the most unlikeable Canadian team since I can't remember when goes out in the quarters. Woof.
 
Team Canada was outcoached, outprepared,  and outlucked in this Quarter-Final loss to Finland in OT 2-1.

Why Hunter chose Comtois to take the penalty shot is besides anyone, considering that Comtois' shot attempt seemed predictable.

Congrats to Team Finland on playing it smart and intuitively (particularly in the tying goal, and subsequently in OT).

Looks like the hockeygods weren't on Canada's side for this one.

A great superb performance from Team Canada goalkeepwe Michael DiPietro who faced 39 shots, while Finnish 'keeper Luukonen faces 30.

It was that broken stick that should really stand out, quickly taken advantage of by the Finnish offensive rush.

If the stick hadn't broken, it may very well have been a goal shooting from that angle, more surefire than even Comtois' penalty shot attempt.

Canada had it's chances but couldn't capitalize.  Blaming one player for the entire Team's ills seems misguided.

Obviously attacking a kid personally is straight up bullying and should not be done. However, being a professional comes with criticism and Comtois diving and embellishments are not qualities I would want from my captain. I should note he was not the only one flopping around out there. It was hard to watch and stomach at times.
