2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I Miss Dubas.

We could draft 2 more when he moved down grabbed the same player, and he wouldn't sign Reeves for years.

Next season could be a long one.

The Leafs tried moving down and didn't when they thought Cowan would be taken. It was Dubas' staff.

?We spent a lot of time looking at trying to acquire more picks. Coming in, that was probably our No. 1 priority, to see if we could manufacture some more picks. But it was difficult, and ultimately nothing happened,? Treliving said.

I will remind myself (and others) that the 4th line is barely relevant and the opening day roster is not the playoff roster.

That said, it looks like we are tied up in bidding wars for Bertuzzi and probably Domi, which is sort of taking us out of the running for useful fringe (O?Reilly, Duchene, etc). If we are left without a dance partner after those chases though, it?ll be tough sledding to demonstrate a tangible improvement with all the bodies we?ve lost.

The leafs potentially could have had Acciari for 3years at 2 mil or Reaves foe 3 years for 1.3 mil.

Wasting cap dollars and roster spots is wasting cap dollars and roster spots even if it is the 4th line.

this just makes me so sick. I cannot stand either Domi or Bertuzzi and don't want either of those cancer on our team.

*sigh* Acciari's gone now too

ffs

Wtf.... is there anyone were going to keep??? This is horrible. all the other players that other teams have signed aren't that bad yet we are left out. This gm sleeping or what???

Zucker, Duchene, Sprong, Pacioretty, Wheeler, ROR, Brown all gone. Some deals I would have done for the Leafs, some I wouldn't have. Unfortunate, not a ton of ideal options available to boost our forward depth.

Sounds like the Leafs are in on Bertuzzi and Domi, either or both of them wouldn't be bad on the right deals. If someone like Compher hasn't been overpaid yet maybe he'll be available on a reasonable deal to add a centre. And then still some 3rd line options like Rodrigues, Suter, Yamamoto, maybe Toews, maybe Sundqvist, maybe Fischer.

Guessing Treliving was having an early afternoon nap. Literally no other plausible explanation

The plausible explanation is that he?s not a very good GM and we?re about to witness Burke 2.0
