Insane San Jose got a 1st rounder for Granlund, especially since they couldn't retain anything on him (they've used up all their retention spots).

Yup sounds like Florida may want to trade another 1st so they have the option of using the 26 or 27th. I wouldn't want him for that long while giving up a 1st plus a 23 year old goalie like Knight. ...Woll, light.

At the same time their window is now. They are defending champs. He makes them a better team now
 
It’s because Florida’s 2026 1st is involved in the absurdly complex conditions from the Monahan trade, so they have attach conditions to it.
 
I haven't seen him much in Chicago. His coaches handily gave him the most ice time there - he's top 4 in the league for TOI/GP over the last few seasons. Can't imagine Florida's D as anything but significantly improved. He'll help make up for the losses of Montour and OEL.
