3 Florida Panthers vs 6 New Jersey Devils

Panthers won 4-2, last goal an empty netter.  Series now tied at one apiece.  Stephen Weiss two goals for Florida. Solid goaltending by Theodore.

This series that nobody really cares about could get interesting if the Panthers are able to play like they did in game 2 for the rest of the series.  I was one who thought the Devils would completely destroy them.

Never thought I'd see the day where the Devils couldn't protect a three goal lead in the playoffs.

There haven't been nearly enough brawls, hair pulling or attempted murders to get anyone interested in this series.

I still wouldn't care much about it.  I tried watching one of the games and just didn't hold my attention.

The Panthers win 3-0, as Kris Versteeg and Scottie Upshall were the heroes for Florida, while goaltender Jos? Theodore proved unbeatable in net.  The Panthers outsmatrted the Devils & Brodeur  especially on the power play and in the PK departments. Florida now takes a 3 games to 2 series lead, as Game #6 is Tuesday in New Jersey.

The series that nobody cares about... so boring i fell asleep through the first 2 periods... yet here I am still watching it as it heads to OT.  I really hope FLA ends it tonight...

Took a quick peek at the other 13 OT games in the first round.

8 of those games didn't make it past the first 5 mins of overtime. 2 others didn't make it past the first 5 minutes of double overtime. A lot of these games get over early in the period.

This one made it past 5 mins - 5:39 until the Devils scored. Looks like I am a little slow tonight. :)

Kind of typical of OT. I've noticed that, in generally, the goals come in the first few minutes of the period or the last few minutes. The middle part of the periods seem to exist purely to increase blood pressure.

That's the funny thing - there has been only one OT goal so far this playoffs (now 14 games) that has happened more than a minute past the halfway point, and that was Phoenix at 13:15 in game 3. Looks like after a certain point the teams just hang on to get it to the next period.

You know there's another game 7 tonight? Panthers just tied it up with about 3 and a half minutes to go in the 3rd on a delay of game penalty.
