4 Nashville Predators vs 5 Detroit Redwings

Cool factor goes to Motown.

Longevity and overall money made has to go to the Grand Ole Opry.

Therefore, Nashville takes it in 5?

This is the hardest one to call by far, IMO.  Can't pick a winner.  As much as I would lean to Detroit based on how bloody good they are, Nashville is as good as they have ever been.

This is the series I will be playing very close attention to.  If Nashville can beat the Wings, I think they can take the west.

Preds in 7.

I can see a Nashville win as well. I picked them in 7 too.

It is so hard to go against the Wings, but I believe this may be Nashville's year to make a good run.

It?s extremely close. If home ice advantage had gone to Detroit I would have picked them, but the fact that it went to Nashville could be huge for them. Detroit?s road record was lousy, 17-21-3, and when you factor out all shootout outcomes, which won?t matter in the playoffs, they were only 12-21-2 on the road.

It always seems like a bad idea betting against Detroit, but Nashville seems to have the edge this year.

Nash in 7

Predators in 6.

In Nashville's favour they have one of the best young goaltenders in the game in Pekka Rinne,  as well as one of the best 1-2 defensive duos in Weber & Suter.  Not to mention a potent power play that was just about tops in the league... well, the Preds are poised to defeat the Red Wings again, that is, if....

....everything else goes awry for Detroit in the opening round series.  With Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Bertuzzi, et al., lots of experience here not to mention a willingness to prove they're still the team to beat.
