4 Nations Face-Off

Holy shit that was amazing. I had the privilege of sitting in Scotia Bank Arena and they capped capacity but my god that was so so sweet to watch in there. Marner to McJesus was absolutely poetic.

Just got back to the hotel after a full day of bars and the game in Boston. Met the Spittin Chicklets crew and Andrew Raycroft and partied with Canadians and Americans till the very end. Then 35% of TD Garden sang Oh Canada together. Generational moment. The heros came through.

Did it have to be Matthews with the bad coverage?

So the Trump phone call to the USA, I haven't seen any reports on any Matthews comments on that. Fairly strange considering he was captain of the team. I've seen guys like JT Miller, Werenski calling it "cool" and "great to get his support". I imagine Matthews didn't comment on it, which is understandable given his half Mexican heritage.

Whenever he gets pressed on political stuff, he tends to give a non-answer/shy away from it. He clearly doesn't want to make his positions on things public, which is perfectly fair. But, as you point out, I can't see him being a particularly enthusiastic Trump supporter, given his background.
