I miss the days when the anthem wasn't a pop show.

Have to say, as a non USA/Canadian, I've never really got the anthem thing. I can understand it at international events (world cups, Olympics, world championships etc). Like you don't get a national anthem before Manchester United v Chelsea in the soccer or even Ulster v Toulouse in the European Club rugby championships.

As a Scotsman, I completely agree. It's an odd NA tradition.

...Marner's on the 4th line?

That spot on the 4th line seems to be the "you're struggling, and I'm not sure where else to put you in the lineup right now" spot.

It seems unconventional but maybe play the Nylander/Marner's with Kadri or Matthews instead of Martin?  Just a thought.

Pfft. That makes too much sense to make sense.

EDIT: I sort of understood it when Nylander first ended up there - he was working through a minor injury, so, using him a little less could be justified. This time? At best, you can say it's the result of a short turnaround. Otherwise, there's no real justification for dropping him on that line.

Some of you will probably disagree but it's deserving. Haven't been impressed with Marner's game lately either. You can't take nights off and ya there are times he shows the occasional flash and everyone praises him but for the most part he has been pretty quiet lately. From what I've seen this year I couldn't be more happier with the rookies but I agree with Bacock if you wanna be an elite player you have to bring it most shifts. Marner's size is an issue and I see it on most nights. Personally I think he needs to skate with the puck more. Far too often he'll dump it in or throw it out of his own end when he could carry the puck. Nylander slumped a bit and he was demoted to the 4th line but personally I think he was our best player for the first 15 games. Matthews although he slumped was noticeable and is most nights. Babcock should do this with all his players even the vets. You wanna take some nights off either sit in the press box or go to the 4th line.

Why is Greg Millen our colour commentator when he jokes about Kadri diving on a blatant penalty?

Because something, something the Laffs are the only team that isn't allowed even slightly homer'ish local announcers.

Mike Johnson gets fired and somehow Millen still has a job. I don't get it.

I wish Miller and Ferraro did every Leafs game. They are the best.

Bibeau might have stopped that had Hunwick not taken one of his legs away.

Not every goal against requires a player to be singled out and dumped on. This is a trend I've started seeing in the gdts of  late, and it's getting out of hand.
