Bernier sent to Marlies on conditioning stint

I watched the Moose game last night. He wasn't really tested that much by a pretty poor Moose team, but I guess you can't argue with a shut out and hopefully both of them will help boost the confidence a little.

In saying that, didn't Gustavsson have a conditioning stint with the Marlies and dominate then come back up not really much better off.

If Bernier can stay down and win the Les Cunningham Award at season's end, it might be the confidence push he needs.

What is the record for shutouts in a row for the AHL?

4, this dude just fell short of 5 in a row:

Murray extended his shutout streak to 304 minutes and 11 seconds before finally allowing a goal to Springfield Falcons forward Dana Tyrell at 18:49 of the third period of the Penguins? 4-1 win at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass., falling just short of what would have been a fifth consecutive shutout. The streak was nearly 36 minutes better than the previous AHL record of 268:17, established by Barry Brust with the Abbotsford Heat in 2012.

After 3 reassuring shutouts, it would be kind of funny if Bernier gave up, like, 8 goals including 3 or 4 softies today.

Or goes right back to giving up a goal on the 1st shot when he gets back to the NHL.

Just 4 goals given up for Bernier so far, including a wrist er from the point on the gtg in the last minute of the third.

Four goals takes some of the shine off those initial shutouts.

Some actual Leafs-related talk:

Bernier's back up with the Leafs and will start tomorrow against Tampa.

Makes sense, they need to give him a run so long as Reimer's out.

Well at least Stamkos will start scoring again.
