Blackhawks @ Leafs - Nov. 1st, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

Hard to critique a win against Chicago but I thought the 4th line deserved to play more than 4 min. That's Orr territory.

Just came across this stat on Twitter:

@quinnesq

Leaf Daniel Winnik is tied for 1st in the NHL for fewest 5v5 Goals Against, being on ice for just ONE in 11 games [141 minutes of 5v5 TOI.]

He's been a really nice addition thus far.

He does a lot of things that remind you that he isn't a top 6 winger (skating with his head down on offensive rushes, not getting open for a pass attempt from Kessel/Kadri) but it's pretty hard to argue with his play on the whole.  He's putting up points, he's good defensively, I love his approach on the PK, etc.

I noticed Dion pinching a little more last night, especially in the 1st two periods.  They were really effective pinches too.  The player support was pretty spot on too as you could see the forward peeling back to cover the blueline when he did it.  I don't know if that is coming from Horachek or whether the Leafs are listening to Carlyle and following through on things, but I'll take it.

I know Horachek didn't get W/L results in Florida but it seems like they didn't give him a fair shake.  From what I can tell he looks like a good teaching coach.

so, I want to start with saying that reimer was unbelievable last night.

but I do want to say that how many less shots (and great chances I might add) would not even happen if the guy could catch the puck and/or not let out rebounds that he should have?

No one is saying Reimer is the best goalies out there, Sneakyray.  Just that last night he showed that he is indeed capable of course consistency (a la Bernier).  I don't expect Reimer to play this way each time he suits up, but at least, he's improved.

I enjoyed the game. Reimer played excellent.

We need to work on the PK, but other then that, I thought they played great.
