Game Notes

BOS
?Rask will start for the Bruins
?The line of Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak has a combined 20 points through 2 games
?It's expected that Riley Nash will return to the line-up at his 3C position for the Bruins. He missed the last 5 games of the regular season and the first 2 playoff games after taking a puck off his helmet

TOR
?Andersen will start for the Leafs
?Projected Leafs lines are just how they started game 2, so don't read into them too much
?Komarov was getting checked out on Sunday after leaving Saturday's game with a lower body injury. Not going to speculate as to who would replace him, but it could be Leivo or Martin or maybe even Grundstrom perhaps?
?Other changes to the line-up could possibly be coming given how poorly the Leafs have performed through 2 games. Could Moore replace Plekanec? Could Carrick draw in somewhere?
?With home ice advantage finally in Babcock's hands, it'll be interesting to see who he plays with Matthews and who he plays against Bergeron

Injuries

?Brandon Carlo - Ankle - Out for season
?Anders Bjork - Shoulder - Out for season
?Tommy Wingels - Upper Body - Questionable Monday
?Riley Nash - Head - Probable Monday
Code:

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?Leo Komarov - Lower Body - Questionable Monday

I'm OK if Martin draws in to set a tone (meaning finishing checks and nothing more) at home, but by God he cannot take penalties running around, given the fragile state of the PK.

Plekanec played better in Game 2 but I also would be OK with Moore going in.

I feel like if Martin goes in Moore has to swap with Plekanec as well. I don't know why, I just don't really see Plekanec and Martin meshing. He never really at all played with a guy like that in Montreal.

Martin going in and playing 5 minutes is not what we need. The 4th line was fine with Johnsson on it. I really hope Leo is out. I'm not a fan of him being with Matthews, let alone the 4th line. I'd love to see Babs try Kap and Johnsson with Matthews for a shift here and there.

Agree. Plekanec plays better with speedy guys. The 4th line was fine last game.

I actually won tickets to this game.  I'm hoping to transfer some of that luck to the home team. *fingers crossed*

Game day... please be competitive.

Hockey Gods if your listening that was a complete BS start to last game, ridiculous bounces, no more of that! Hard to start a game at 4-0.

Boss gave me tickets for Thursday... let's hope for some TMLFANS.ca luck. It's nice to know that a few true die hard fans will be at the game.

We're really not that bad. Game 1, stupid 4th line put on with a minute left in the second killed us. Game 2, ridiculous bounces to start the game put us out instantly. Let's hope for no bad luck and some decent coaching to start and see what happens.

With last change Kadri should be in Bergeron line's kitchen... but he received an unprecedented THREE game suspension. That hurts. Let's put Matthews in a position to succeed ie. no Komarov on his wing.

The only thing that can stop Babcock from playing Komarov is an injury to Komarov.  So we can only hope he's not cleared to play.

Let's hope the sports science/medical staff people are buddies with the analytics team/Dubas.

It's fairly sad that everyone from fans to commentators can see that Komarov has absolutely nothing in the tank, is a shadow of the player he used to be, yet Babcock, the $50M coach is seemingly oblivious to the issues.  That scares the hell out of me.

He did the same thing in Detroit with Dan Cleary. All coaches/humans have blindspots.

Plekanec is likely going up against the Bergeron unit. I guess Kadri's suspension kinda forced Babcock's hand as he can't put Bozak against them and he'll want to keep Matthews away from him too. Still, that match-up probably isn't going to be pretty.

There might be something to playing Plekanec more to get him engaged and to get his opponents enraged. He was averaging 16+ minutes before the trade and then was dialed down to 11.

MLHS noted this earlier, but Moore knows how to play short minutes. He'll probably turn it over a bit more but understands his role.

I also don't think the end of game lineup looks like what they're practicing with here. Nylander has not broken through yet but has looked good up the middle.
