So true.  Anyone who did 27 years on Robben Island and came out an even better man had to be adaptive.

Especially when you consider many of the tactics the ANC were using before that were similar to those used by universally reviled terrorist groups today.

Also, to be able to remain such a calm and measured leader while married to Winnie . . . the man was a saint.

I really have to get back to work now but there's a long discussion to be had here sometime on one man's terrorist being another man's freedom fighter.

Perhaps, though, this thread is definitely not the place for it.

Rambo 3's dedication was edited post 9/11, if I recall. I guess movies are also not what the threads about...

I just want to point out that for the purposes of this discussion I am not including Hasek as a reactionary/reflex goalie.  Therefore, Felix Potvin remains the greatest reflex goalie of all time.

Do you mean Potvin's comically oversized pads where the best of all time?

I heard an interesting tidbit recently that he was offered a contract(Minnesota I think) post-lockout on the condition he trim the pads, he chose to retire.

Probably hogwash.

Siegel reports that Spaling might return. If he does, Winnik will sit.

Masters confirms Spaling will line up with Lupul and Grabner.

I don't recall Potvin's pads ever being outlandishly large.

I do remember what you're talking about though. It was after the lockout, when the NHL made changes to goalie equipment. From what I remember, Potvin was invited to camp for some team (maybe the Wild, can't remember) but retired instead because his pads didn't meet the new requirements and he just didn't want to bother with it.
