Montreal is struggling to generate anything against our forecheck and NZ structure

I'm just going to throw this out there.  The acquisition of Brodie (and Bogosian a level or so down in importance) have transformed the team, along with Holl's good play.  The forwards can lean on them with confidence, and they've used that confidence, not to cheat or cherry-pick, but as a foundation for defensive responsibility up and down the ice.

Wish this team would take the body more. That last rush play could have went nowhere if they would have just bodied Anderson I believe at Center. Both the D man and Nylander could have impeded his progress. Play continued and Habs got that goal mouth chance and scrum. Don?t need to flatten people just stop or slow down the progress.

I won't argue that McDavid is the best offensive player in the league but Matthews is making a very strong case this year for being the best player in the league.

Somehow I'd never heard of the time when Marc Bergevin caught the puck and literally threw it into his own net:

He's been making a Selke case this period.

With Bergeron and Kopitar having good offensive seasons I doubt he would win it this year but yeah, he is on another level right now.

His speed to get into the play on that 2 on 1 was a thing of beauty,
