Biggest win of the year! Thanks to Freddie making those huge saves in the 2nd.

I'm inclined to agree.  Hope it vaults them into making me look like a damn fool come April.  (Some would say I'm already there pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.)

I genuinely don't understand Hyman-haters in 2019. Spoken by a Hyman-hater from 2017.

Me neither.  He's very good in his role, sometimes outstanding.
I can buy the discussion of whether he should play on the top line but aside from that he's good.

Hey guys, how about that local sports team?
We rule man!

Montreal getting up for every game against us this season and doing really well but losing in heart wrenching and horrific fashion gives me life. We are their Bruins.

I'm happy with 11/34/29 down the stretch.

As long as he's with two uber-talented players (like Tavares-Marner, or Matthews-Nylander) it's perfectly acceptable I think. He plays the 3rd guy role with those pairings in a way that I don't think others can. The only problem with his top-6 role is when he has to play with Matthews and say Brown, that's when there just isn't enough talent on the line.

Game Day Threads are now like going to a movie theatre where the loudest, dumbest people in there complain by the 15 minute mark about how the heroes haven't won yet.

What about that guy providing Pop Up Video commentary out loud on the side?

You mean the biased fake positive news talking points.

That's my issue with Hyman, so really it's a Babs issue. He plays on a top line and he shouldn't be playing there. I think Johnsson can do his job just as well and add in more offence.

Yo dawg, this movie's trash. It's silent as hell but I haven't seen a single lamb.

Games like this are why I couldn't even fathom throwing in the towel this season. The Leafs aren't perfect but they'll never be out of any game they play in. It's a long season and it's almost for impossible for teams to be firing on all cylinders evenly throughout the entire thing. They've had runs where Tavares/Marner dominated and runs where Matthews and/or Nylander dominated, but never both units going at the same time. Come playoff time if those four all catch fire and Freddy plays at the top of his game I genuinely believe this team can beat anyone.

The Leafs have two top lines and Johnsson is currently playing on one of them.

I'm sure there was a good bit of crying early in this game...
