I figured this was a loss after the Tavares injury. The guys did a good job to get their heads back in the game after the intermission. They'll come back.
I agree but they have no chance with a PP like that.

Stack PP1. Swap Marner (right wall) with Nylander (one-time side), give the puck to Willy like he?s Marner. Profit.

Funny thing about the PP - weren't we told a few weeks ago that there weren't many PPs in the playoffs so it didn't really matter that they weren't scoring? A PP goal or two tonight would have made a bit of a difference.

Or at least not a minus

I don't want to pin this all on Malhotra and I don't like the idea of constantly changing assistant coaches every year, but if this does end up costing us a playoff series win this early I'm not sure how you don't cut bait there.

It just can't be that bad, it can't. If the Leafs give up as much as they get on the PP someone needs to be held accountable and I can't see it as a personnel problem.

Malholtra will be fired if the PP doesn?t come alive in the playoffs.

Sort of sound reasoning, in a weird way.

Simmonds should have come out to handle that. We need Foligno on the ice.

Despite the shorty, the PP looked a lot better tonight. They had good possession and chances. Let's see how it goes Sat. The PK looks really good though.
On to the next one.

Exactly. That's about all Simmonds has to offer at this point, sad to say.
