Canadiens @ Leafs - May 8th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Wow, it's amazing how they gave up two really good scoring chances in the last 12 seconds. Pretty shaky sequence, but a win is a win, and first place is secure!

I don?t think that should have been a penalty

It's a bit of a weird one. If Petry had lined that hit up properly I wouldn't have had a problem with it but because he sorta missed it had the potential to be a lot worse for Mikheyev.

So, what kind of banner do we get to hang next fall for being Kings of the North?  I hope it's a giant Scotiabank deposit slip.

No doubt there will be a banner unless they bomb in the playoffs, then no one will care

As someone who works in finance this is infinitely funny to me lol

I caught bits and pieces of the game (beginning and end mostly).

I like what I see from Hutton as a depth defense option: little to no panic with the puck, looks for good easy passes out in the DZ and keeping the play alive in the OZ, skating is okay and his reach makes up for it.

Marner stepped up nicely this season. There are moments of OZ oopsies if I'm looking for them in isolation (as there probably will be for every player), but there are many more moments of "huh, still got it" when a stick pokes the puck off of him and he just kicks it back into his control space without breaking stride. I dig the return to the mullet for him as it really works for his face.

Muzzin would have more goals off his open looks if his shot didn't always look like the same flamingo. Easy read, always going high far side corner. Super cool the one or two times it goes in a season. He is otherwise boringly effective and that's what we need and want.

Engvall making use of his heavy shot and negating the predictability of his slow-butt release by slinging it from unexpected rando spots is working for him (it doesn't work for Mikheyev lol).

Just an awful take there. Kotkaniemi was a reach at 3. Could?ve had Tkachuk or Quinn Hughes. Just terrible scouting.

Tkachuk was ranked higher then him by TSN and most scouts not in Montreal lol.
