Canadiens @ Leafs - Nov. 7th, 7:00pm - SN

Just not good enough. Matthews probably ended any chance with that bad angle missed shot while 2 Canadiens were stickless. Not a great choice.

Too much tic tac and not enough net crash
It's shocking how after all this time they don't want to go for a tip, or a rebound or shovelling the garbage. It's always getting a perfect cross seam. If we had a guy who could really one time it like Draisaitl then ok but we don't. Have to get more bodies in front of the net. How often does Bob get screened while we want the perfect play?

Bob can't keep starting the majority of games. It's not all on him but he puts the team in a hole every single game.

McKenna is a bad defensive player. He will probably be a few years before he's even a semi-competent one. I get benching him at times but this felt like a game where he deserved to sit more than some of the other games where Hiller just seems to have it out for him...glad he got a goal back because he was easily the cause for a few against

Tavares wasn't good. I'm assuming he rushed back so hopefully it was just some ring rust and he'll be better over the next few games.

I hate to completely write the team off over 1/5 of the season but the defense can't make enough passes and the goaltender we signed for 3 years is borderline unplayable.

I do think there are a lot of good individual pieces here but man it's getting harder to see this team keeping pace with an insanely deep division.

Chatting with my father about this, he made the point that because Bob keeps giving up bad goals, it is probably starting to effect the team where they are afraid to make a mistake because it could end up as a goal, so they are playing more tense in front of Bob, which means they aren't cleanly breaking out of the zone.

I'm probably in the minority but I didn't see goaltending as the big problem. Sure, it would have been nice to steal a goal away. But I didn't see a soft goal. The only one I'm debating is the first one when he got a little outside the blue paint. We had a tip, a screen and a nice shot on breakaway with the others. I think the skaters have more issues defensively.
