Canucks @ Leafs - Feb. 8th, 6:00pm - CBC, SN 590

I have no idea how Kessel got that pass to Franson.

But if they were on their weak sides it's a one-timer in the net...

And the rebound off Franson's shot just went wide to Kessel's backhand or he had all net.

Yeah but I think we see that pretty often. It's not like the puck was on that wall or anything.

The officials will let it go when there's traffic in the area and such, but, it was just the one Canuck player drifting down the ice and the door to the bench wasn't even open.

That was a really bad call.  No way that's a dive.  A professional ref shouldn't miss that.

It's an "embellishment" these days, and, yeah, we've seen more over the top stuff go uncalled.

I really don't understand why "embellishment" is even a penalty. Edler put his stick between Raymond's legs and he tripped over it. That's a trip. Why does Raymond get 2 minutes just because he flailed his hands out a little more than maybe he should have? It would have still been a trip had he not done that. The NHL really needs to fix this problem. Or maybe leave it alone because the game is 100% perfect.

A little late but who was the short little dude to the left from the 64 team?  Was that one of the trainer's they were announcing?  All in all, a weak ceremony. They should have announced the guys AS they walked on to the ice. A little awkward in silence as they walked on. IMO.

6:00 p.m.?  This is an outrage.

It's brilliant. I'm all for all face offs being moved forward an hour  ;)

Sorry Arn, but I'm with Pot-v on this.  Starting at 6 is a perversion of the natural order.  After all, God Himself ordained that the Leafs should play every Saturday nite at 7.  I'd have to look it up, but I think He did that at the same time He named Eastern as His Chosen Time Zone.

My only complaint about the early start was I had time to only have one beer after the Belfast game to get home for face off.

Then the pre game ceremony made me sad cos I probably could have snuck another one in.

Yeah that was the trainer they announced first.

I get the logic behind it - they don't want players doing stupid and potentially dangerous things to draw penalties on marginal plays - but, yeah, it's really something they should leave uncalled outside of really blatant offences and actual dives.

That, and it becoming soccer.

Good old Jim Hughson.  Luongo has really been on his game.  The Leafs didn't get many shots through, but he was working really hard to see them.

There's a good example of Clarkson. Tries to stick handle past 3 Canucks just inside the blue line instead of dumping it ahead to his 2 line mates.
