Well they certainly didn't deserve to win this game, but I'm glad they did.

Yes.  We nitpick and nitpick, but points is points.  We used to lead the league in Moral Victories.

What a stupid PP and you sit Matthews for the whole damn thing
This. I know Babcock is the supposedly greatest coach in his own mind, but how good of a coach do you need to be to leave the best player on the team on the bench during a 4 on 3 PP?

He didn?t. Marleau didn?t get off the ice.

Yeah, that was on Marleau.  He should have switched sides and then slipped off.

Nope!    Babcock should have started Matthews on the power play to begin with!

As far as unsatisfying shootout wins go that was decent.  Nice d?j? vu from Matthews in the shootout and recognizing Bozak should go in the first 3.

I think they just Photoshopped that in from the other night.  You can bet the league will take a look at it.

Bozak?s move was the same too.
Bozak went stick side against the Sharks and glove side against the Nucks.
Dermott looked good tho. Even played him on the right side in the 3rd. Like to see more of him for sure.

He just finished a 1:03 shift. Marleau then stayed on the ice for 1:33 which prevented Matthews from getting back on.

Marleau almost screwed the Leafs twice in OT.
He made a really bad change to start the OT then he stayed out for almost the whole PP for some reason. For a good pro he plays a little lazy and selfish at timesIMO.

::) They were set up, in the offensive zone, in OT, with a 4 on 3 powerplay. As a coach, I would not want my player to change.

Why not? You see it all the time.

The Leafs had possession he could have easily changed with Matthews. He seemed gassed just parked in one spot. I wasn't impressed with him.

Look at the change he made in the beginning of OT. Canucks have the puck and he just goes for a change. Marner did the same thing later on which led to the post.

Did the Leafs have a timeout? Take one to rest Matthews and start him on the PP

The failure of that pp wasn't all on Marleau, or even mostly on Marleau. Everyone was just standing around. Very easy to defend. Still, I would agree that he should have gotten off the ice sooner, even if it meant the Leafs had to go back and reorganize (though they probably could have maintained possession in the offensive zone, there was more than enough room).

Those 2 changes were horrific, they got really lucky there.

So...that Bozak fella is pretty good huh..  :-X
Can't say I have been a big Bozo fan but he seems to really have found his touch. Good work and keep it up.

I've always liked Bozak. He seems like a good guy and at least seems to try.

JVR on the other hand I hate. I can't stand watching him and his lazy one handed stick swipe at the puck that he calls defense.
