Campbell played himself out of a long term contract. Sucks for him. Imagine if the Leafs signed him to a deal then this started.
Lots of posters were saying better sign him now...the price is going up. Dubas wanted to wait to see how he'd do, guess he's finding out along with everyone else.
What I don't get for the life of me is the Mrazek signing. 3 years at 3.8 million for a small goaltender with meh career numbers when he's played bigger minutes.

Yep. Dubas has made very few bad decisions but that one was a big WTF. A goalie with injury history signing 3 years at that caphit was just bad from the getgo. At this point you run with Mrzak for a few consecutive games since he's signed for 2 more years.

They needed a goalie to be 1B and Mrazek has done that before. They probably figured he'd play 30-35 games and Jack would play the rest. Issue was Mrazek got hurt and never really started playing until the new year and Jack probably played too much. One of them is going to get going and truthfully, I have more hope for Mrazek then Campbell. I think Mrazek has the mentality and Jack doesn't but I hope both of them can get it going.

I think its not unreasonable to say that Campbell on his game is the better goaltender for this team.  Mrazek is a puck stopper but even on his game he's going to be all over the place.  The Leafs defense isn't exactly the best at that.

Campbell at his best is a big body who reads through screens well.  I just don't have faith at this pointin Campbell getting back right now.

I'm coming back with Jack on Monday.

Dubas of course is going to tell the press like he did yesterday that he's go complete confidence in his goalies.  If that's true, let''s get a new GM.  If it isn't, he's boned.

That's a huge problem with him. No different than the har*on he has for the core. One day if he's still around he'll realize that some changes need to be made.

I?m sorry but this absolutely a goalie problem. Another defenceman will not fix this.

If anything I've been impressed generally with how good the defence has been with Muzzin out.

I think you have to just keep playing Campbell right?

I think Campbell not having a contract at this point is working against him mentally.

The team is also spending more time in their own zone than the were at the start of the year.  Teams have figured out how to hem them in and forecheck them.

Earlier in the year there were whole games like the end of the second where Toronto just cycled the puck in the offensive zone for long periods of time.

Would prefer skaters to not try to kick block a shot while that close to the net. Marner tried one earlier in that shift that he didn?t get a piece of.
